Bio

What started as a nickname among friends has evolved into a fitting musical alias for Brooklyn-based producer Eric Gerhardt. Gherdty broke onto the NYC scene in 2013 after graduating from the music composition program at Purchase College.

His discography spans a range of styles from singer-songwriter (“Soul Eager” and “Lace Up”) to dancey electronic (“H.M.H.Y. Love”). Originally from Upstate NY, Gerhardt grew up writing folk songs on acoustic guitar and singing hymns in his father’s church. You can still hear that choir boy in the soundscape of Gherdty’s retropop records.

Gherdty independently released and produced Waking Life (2018) and Man!k (2015) from his bedroom studio, where he drew influence from other versatile singer-songwriters such as Toro y Moi, Sufjan Stevens, and James Blake.
